Success !!!!!!

I have found more information about my great grandfather James John Davis. I found his WW1 Service Records (well whats left of them). He was in the Royal Engineers (B battalion) He join the RE in 1918 however before this he was in the RHA, I believe this to be the Royal Horse Artilliay. I know little else about this as his reg number is unreadible.

Dixons of Bermondsey

The other half of my family is the Dixon Line. They all come from Bermondsey (well so far anyway) GGrandfather is Thomas George Dixon B1880 he married Alice Mable Nicholls in 1909.

Thomas George Dixon's father is James Dixon B1864 he married Emma Elizabeth Purbrick in1883.

The family worked in Bermondsey Tannery near Tooly Street.

James John Davis

Im currently looking for a James John Davis born C1876 in Wandsworth his father was also named James John Davis. James (jnr) married Elizabeth Lily Taylor in 1903 Wandsworth. They had Frederick William Davis B 1913 who was my grandfather.

I went down LMA and had could not find much. I have found an entry in the Chelsea area of a James Davis with a fathers name of James John Davis. However i have not been able to prove or disprove this as i can't find a birth or baptisim record for (yet!).

Oh well best keep looking!!
